For fans of the late Japanese director, what is your favorite film from this legendary director?

It was a really difficult decision for me--but I have to say "RAN", the Japanese version of King Lear, An epic Samurai movie, A masterpiece!

Although, I really like Rashamon, the hidden fortress (The princess had the most epic stare lol) and of course the 7 samurai...

What is yours?

You've already mentioned mine: RAN. I really like Kagemusha as well.

Dreams, followed by Dodes'ka-den

I always considered Ran as a "proof of excellence" work, designed to allow him more creative freedom in later films.

Kagemusha was good, problem is, I had difficulty separating Shingen's brother from his double...lol

His grandson was so adorable...figured it out in 5 seconds...haha
