I enjoyed the movie "Great Balls of Fire" with Dennis Quaid and Winona Ryder.

Performances like this are why he was labeled The Killer. Any time one of his songs came on the radio or you dropped the 45 on your record player, you couldn't sit still. You'd be dancing in your seat, just like the audience did here. There were plenty of scandals during his life but it never stopped him from selling records and making people smile. A true legend of Rock 'n Roll and will always be remembered that way. One of my favorites to dance to was . . .

Breathless

Thankfully the blinds were closed because that had me dancing around the living room like no one was watching!

R.I.P. Killer!

One of my few regrets is that I never got to see "The Killer" live. Somewhere, there's a "Whole Lotta Shaken Goin' On".

I know he worried about his salvation so much, but I have now doubt that he is with the Lord he loved so much.

Watching "Great Balls of Fire" in his memory.

The longevity of the earliest rock 'n' roll pioneers has made me happy. Little Richard also lived to 87, Fats Domino 89, and Chuck Berry 90, all pretty recently.

Sadly Jerry Lee may be the last of them. I'm only seeing Tony Bennett as a living major artist who made music in the 1950's.

EDIT: Composer Stoller (of Leiber/Stoller) is alive at 89.
