The 60s were as good as it ever got for pop songs in my book. DOUBLE H is soooo right about 1968 being such a fantastic year - as witnessed above in LRUA's stunning list.

Watching the CBS Early Show this morning. Got muscle cars on this segment and playing some cool car songs from the 60's. Here's a few; Little GTO-Ronnie and the Daytonas, Drag City-Jan and Dean, Little Deuce Coupe-Beach Boys, Mustang Sally-Wilson Pickett, Three Window Coupe-Ripcords, Hey Little Cobra-Ripcords, Fun Fun Fun-Beach Boys, 409-Beach Boys.
IMO they were best when Peter Frampton was in the group...
he left right after Rockin' the Fillmore in 1971
