I'm right out of college, no job lined up and nothing tying me down. I'm from a town with population about 8,000 and I'm looking to move to a small town in TN, preferably on a lake and near Nashville!! Any advice is more than appreciated, as I've never been there before. Just going to take a risk and hope it works out - Thank You!

Are you independently wealthy? Have family who is paying your bills?

If no, I would suggest visiting first. And get a job lined up BEFORE you move.

I like your attitude. Sometimes you have to just take a chance in life and see what happens. I too am moving from a smaller town to TN to try things out, any suggestions you hear let me know!!

I did the same thing, 7 years ago, and haven't regretted it; it took a couple of months to find a job. In my opinion, you're at the time of your life to do these things... before you're tied down with kids and a mortgage.

I agree about being at the age where it's OK to move without a job. I moved to Australia without a job and it worked out great. Much harder when you have a family to support. This is the only time in your life when you have that freedom. Go for it! That said, visiting first might be a good idea. We don't have a lot of big lakes . . where are you moving from?

Lest I get corrected about the number of lakes or their relative 'bigness' . . I used to live in Minneapolis which had lakes all over the city and that was my comparison. . . .
