We have been looking at two gated communities in Franklin, Tn.
Reserve at Temple Hills and Laurelbrooke. From what we can see, the area is lovely, but since we have not spent a lot of time visiting, we worry that we don't have enough information to make a well thought out decision.
Are there any other gated communities that are close to the Ensworth school and to Vanderbilt Univ, since that will be our commute every morning (price range 850-990)
Is the area safe? Any problems with the rivers flooding in the area?
Any other information or suggestions given will be greatly appreciated

I don't know about the Reserve at Temple Hills but Laurelbrook is an easy commute to Ensworth High School where you can catch a bus to the lower school if you want. Also there are a number of Ensworth families in Laurelbrook that you could car pool with.

I suspect your commute will be about the same from either subdivision.

Legends Ridge is a tiny bit further but still a pretty easy commute to both places and is basically the commute my husband and I have done into Vandy for a decade or so. Would take 30 min without traffic, but more if you leave smack in the morning rush hour. About 15 min to Ensworth HS. To be honest, Legends Ridge is not really my type of neighborhood, but then again, I am not a gated community type of person - but just to put it in the mix. In addition, near Edwin Warner, adjacent to the back side of Laurelbrook - off Vaughn Road, there is another community - I am not sure if it is gated, and the name escapes me, ..I think Stockett Creek is the one I ama thinking of. If not gated, then it has a gated feel to it. Closer to town, in Belle Meade is an older gated community Sugar Tree. I haven't been there in years, I remember it being nice, although I wonder how it is for younger families... for all I know it's just for old people but maybe somebody else could clarify. Those are all the ones I can think of, off hand...
What grade is your Ensworth kiddo(s) going into?
