I am not sure but 2 years ago it was roughly 2,000 which does not include the underhoused or temporary housed.

The city reported 2,600 homeless in October. Homelessness is on the rise.

The stats are what they are, but living downtown, I definitely see less homeless than when I moved to Nashville a few years ago.

2600 is a ok number and could be well managed for a sunbelt growing city.

Is there a problem with rural municipalities in Tennessee using Nashville as a dropping off point for chemically dependent unhoused?

I just read Atlanta is at 2700. For some reason it seems worse in Atlanta than Nashville.

It really depends on who is doing the counting and how it's tabulated. It's never accurate in either case because it's a moving target, and not everyone will talk to the people asking. If I were homeless I would certainly prefer Atlanta to Nashville, it gets real cold in Tn.
