Just which part of Nevada and towns is this lonely highway located? Which part are they referring to?

US 95 is a mostly 2 lane highway that runs up the west side of the state through many very small towns - it is the quickest way from Las Vegas to Reno.

What are the names of those towns in North Nevada from Reno on that this is suppose to be the least traveled?

Think you're looking for Highway 50.

Yes, it’s Hwy 50.

That’s it’s nickname, but I think it is misleading. It’s really an interesting drive, it gets all twisty and hilly outside of Fallon and there are old ghost towns and mining relics along the way. You get into pinion forest before Austin and it’s pretty. These towns have historic pioneer and mining buildings from the booming frontier days downtown and Ely, a nice little museum.

I consider the drive from Vegas to Northern Nevada my personal loneliest highway though..lol.

US95 is still pretty lonely - all the town populations added together in the 365 miles between the north end of Las Vegas and Fallon is probably less than 10,000 total scattered between 9-10 towns. Pretty sparse population along that route.
