No , you can't. There incompatible....just like EZ Pass won't work in Florida.

Use of Transponders Outside of North Carolina


North Carolina is working with other toll agencies (E-ZPass, SunPass, etc.) to allow NC Quick Pass to be accepted for payment of tolls on other states' toll roads and out-of-state transponders to work in North Carolina. Currently, NC Quick Pass will ONLY work for payment of tolls in North Carolina; out-of-state transponders will NOT work in North Carolina. Once agreements are in place, the NC Quick Pass hard case transponder will be accepted for payment of tolls on those out-of-state toll roads that have agreements with North Carolina. Additionally, payment of tolls in North Carolina will be possible through an existing out-of-state transponder account. The sticker transponder will continue to only work in North Carolina.



Although the answer of '"Never" may eventually prove to be the valid one. Why did NC decide to go it alone and not adopt one of the other pre-existing technologies? Foolish, foolish, foolish.............

Foolish indeed. Virginia had its own "smart tag" years ago, but eventually rolled into EZ Pass, so there is precedent for states switching over. Hopefully NC will sooner rather than later.

Current technology only allows two systems to be programed into the transponder. EZPasss must have felt covering the mid Atlantic and New England made more sense than including Florida and leaving out the other local area.
