Hello

We are moving to Princeton for my work. I am looking for some guidance around places to live with following criteria:

1. Looking for 2 to 3 bedroom rental for a family of 4, I can afford around $2K +/-$200 per month. Properties nearby parks, grocery stores are always preferable.

2. Also looking for best schooling for my 2nd and 5th graders; It seems like West Windsor offers very good school system but also learned that the schools are ultra-competitive, very much academia driven and do not leave much time for kids to do other activities. This is merely my google search so I will appreciate your practical experience with West Windsor school systems or any suggestions on nearby areas with great schools. I will be working in Princeton so do not want my commute to exceed 30 min.

I will greatly appreciate any suggestions on specific condo/townhome rental properties which satisfy above criteria. I also heard that people who work in Princeton also live in Pennsylvania which offers low-cost real estate/taxes etc. Will appreciate any recommendation on areas in Pennsylvania side with great schools.

Thanks for reading and providing guidance.

The best schools in your area would be Princeton by most school rankings.
WW-P is a more affordable option with arguably comparable schools. You hear about WW-P schools because they are good, rank well in the State (and nationally) no more competative than the other good districts you seek for your kids.

There are rentals in Plainsboro (WW-P schools) in your budget.
Also look in Robbinsville, good schools and more rental choices.

The Council Rock School district in Pa. is well rated, your commute time might be challenged.

I would just stick with NJ if you want to keep your commute down.

My favorite town in that area is Robbinsville. I think it has a nice selection of housing, the town center came out cute. They have their own high school, so not as overwhelmingly big as some of the other regional HS. I think the prices are bit a less than some of the surrounding towns.
