Paramus is a shopper’s mecca-Garden State plaza, Paramus Park, and dozens of chain establishments. However malls are closed on Sundays. It’s not a problem for me but what if someone works Monday through Saturday and just needs that day of excursion to the mall? What do they do?
I am not much of a shopper and so I don’t really care one way or another but if I had to choose, I’d choose to get rid of it. Bergen county is probably losing revenue to other neighboring counties on Sundays.
The traffic argument against it I don’t think is very strong. The traffic that is reduced on Sunday is just moved onto the other days, like Saturday or Monday. For example, since people know that the store is closed on Sunday, they will go instead on Saturday or Monday, that they otherwise would have done on Sunday.
Also, for others that do need something on a Sunday from a store that is closed, they’d just drive to another store in the next county.

They need to find better things to do with their lives if their life is so pathetic that they "need" a day of excursion to the mall!
This has been done to death on this forum, but I will give my take on it.
If the people of Bergen County want to keep their blue laws, let them.
Typically, I dont think the government should be telling businesses when they can operate, but in this case, these laws have been in place forever. Every business in Bergen County knew this when they decided to open, and they STILL decided to set up shop there, so they dont have the right to expect anything different now
the citizens of Paramus have voted to keep stores closed on Sundays. Just respect it and move on. Drive to Wayne if you really want to shop that badly on a Sunday.
