Wow, here I have never seen any store charge more than our state law minimum, which is 8 cents. No one can seriously complain about that amount. Since no one gets a newspaper any more, we save a certain number of the paper bags for starting fires in the fireplace or patio fire pit, the rest just go in the recycling bin.

1. throw away as often as you do the really thin original bags
2. already have 5 there, how many do I need?
3. then throw out immediately, like the original bags
4. that uses 1 bag a year

6. how many shoes does the average sane person have?
7. how often do you move?
Seems like you are suggesting to use them as you would use the one use bags and throw them away
You would think they would allow you to give the delivery person your old bags, kinda like we do with water delivery or when swapping out a propane tank.

Yes, but where is the store going to keep them? Delivery people change all the time. They would end up losing them, mixing up, etc then people would be mad about that.
I think the way ShopRite is doing it works well, charging a flat $1.50 per order for as many bags as the order requires.
We're "collecting" hundreds of amazon "reusable" bags from whole foods. We do a lot of online order/pickup from WF, and every order now comes w/ reusable bags. Previously, they came with paper bags. We asked the store if we can return them to be reused, and they said they didn't know / they can't take them back.

Great job, NJ, great job.
Donate them to the Food Bank. They can use them. I'm sure.

I thought about the hygiene aspect of this. But most food already comes in containers, and produce and meats are in bags/plastic wrap already so I don’t see much of a concern. But since the bags are so cheap I guess no one really cares to just keep paying for them. I agree this maybe wasn’t very well thought out
