Took my family out to Sussex County last weekend and we were at High Mountain State Park. It was beautiful and Lake Marcia was clean. I got to climb the highest mountain in NJ (1200 ft) it wasn't that hard.

I wanted to see if there are any lakes that are open to swimming and are clean and family friendly. Looking to do more than just go to the town pool again and I don't want to deal with Beach Traffic. We had a lot of fun at Lake Marcia and they didnt charge us to enter the park which was a plus!

Sussex County was gorgeous, If I didnt work in Manhattan, I would definitely buy a house in Sparta. I dont want to do that long of a commute.

My sister moved to Sussex a few years ago. Hamburg area. She commutes down to Paramus. Loves living up there despite the regular visits from bears.

I did work with a guy for a time who lived in Sparta and worked in the city. He was an engineer. Eventually he took a job with a construction firm in NJ when he started having kids. Contractor hours are often an earlier start and finish, and he was closer to home.
