We are looking for advise on buying a house in the suburbs. We are a family of 4, couple of kids (8 and 6).
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 4 Beds / 3 Bath
- Half Acre Land (atleast .33 Acres)
- Good School District
- Decent / Within 1.15 Hours commute to Mid-town Manhattan
- Pool (if possible)
Our Budget 1.2M
We shortlisted:
1) Chatham / Madison
2) Summit
3) New Providence
4) Berkeley Heights
5) Watchung
6) Scotch Plans
7) Warren Township
We liked couple of houses in Watchung NJ that are within our Budget, Around 5000 Sq/Ft. 1.2/1.3 Million range. Both have some work.
How is Watchung for raising a family? We have young kids... Community? Safety?
We liked the other towns - Chatham too expensive. New Providence and Berkeley Heights old houses,.. not much charm.
We are looking for inputs on Watchung and other areas. Schools are very important.
We are from India and looking for Schools that have diversity.
