Better get out that KY again.

Drivers got an early warning form the state’s transportation boss — they can expect tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway to increase in 2024, again.

Transportation Commissioner Diane Guttierrez-Scaccetti made the announcement during questioning by state senators at a budget committee hearing on Tuesday.

“Yes, tolls will go up on January 1, yes - we’re indexing tolls,” she told State Sen. Douglas J. Steinhardt, R-Warren.

They have 700 million in profits just for 2022 alone. What are they going to do with the money?

Doesn't matter.

They do it because they can.

Screw the residents of NJ is their motto.

They plan to spend over $10 billion to widen the Turnpike extension in Jersey City. I'm sure they thank you for your contributions.

I had to drive to Brooklyn for work one day this week and between mileage and tolls, my company has to reimburse me $95. Insane.

Yup, it’s nuts how much it costs to get around. I make money on the reimbursements because the Tesla is so much cheaper to fuel. And because my company is contracted with so many law firms, I can double or even occasionally triple up a single trip and still get the reimbursement for each case.

Authorities don't make "profits". The 700 million to which you refer seems to be listed as Excess Revenue and the footnote says what it is used for.
