Folks

What’s the fastest way in the afternoon around 3pm to go from parsippany to Penn station in Manhattan. I have a trip down there next week but have to return to NYC pretty quickly

I’m ok with a combination of Uber and NJ transit since taking an Uber all the way back may be too much traffic on Lincoln tunnel

Thanks

You can enter your preferences regarding stations and departure times on NJ Transit's Trip Planner site:

1. NJ Transit Train from Denville ~1 hour 15 minute ride that goes directly to Penn Station.
2. NJ Path Train - drive and park / uber to Harrison, Hoboken, Jersey City and take the Path Train which i believe ends 27th street or 33rd street)
3. There's a bus station in Parsippany, need to look up times but brings you to Port Authority

Depending where in Parsippany, get to Willowbrook Mall via uber and take the bus to Port Authority

The train from Boonton only runs to Hoboken in the morning and from Hoboken in the afternoon. The closest rail station would be on the Morris & Essex Line (Denville, Mount Tabor, Morris Plains, or Morristown). You can take an NJ Transit bus (871/874) or taxi to get to one of those stations.

You can also take Lakeland Bus, or for more frequent (and slightly cheaper, though the taxi ride will be more expensive) service, you can go to Willowbrook Mall for the 194/197/198 buses.

Taking a taxi to the Orange NJT railroad station might also be quicker than coming from Morristown (again, cheaper train ticket, but more expensive taxi ride).
