It doesn't change the fact within a decade they already were shouting for a new stadium. So if Commanders can ask one, the Giants/Jets should be allowed to have a new one too that is more transit oriented and not car oriented.

Yes it does, the reason is completely different on that, you were wrong. The Commanders can ask but they can't get one for another 5 years. Met life sucks but they aren't getting anything for at least another decade.

You ignore facts, Washington(JKC) paid for his Stadium the Giants/Jets did not. Another fact you ignore is the tailgating experience at all home games and point , you don't get a new stadium by asking for it.

As I noted, I really don't care that much. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter what they call themselves.
The use of the New York name is a fraud. For decades many businesses have wanted the best of both worlds; to flee NYC and retain its cache. I do not think that NYC should have faced the loss of businesses, including sports teams, that suck on the public teat and use the City's name to enrich themselves. Pick your poison.

There isn't a heavy tailgate experience in Giants or Jets games so the parking isn't justified. Most people park their cars and then walk over to the stadium. NYC isn't Dallas or Phoenix which are known for BBQ so that aspect is not even important.

Looks like you are wrong, cause the Commanders are still pressing for a new stadum:

https://www.axios.com/local/washingt...-congress-vote

Fed-Ex field is in Landover, MD and nearest DC metro stop is a mile away.

RFK Stadium was and still is only a block away from the Armory DC metro stop.

Even RFK doesn't fall through, Potomac Yards is a possibility although with the Wizards moving there it might complicate things.

The reality parking lot stadiums are moronic and following a European model of direct transit to the stadium is the way to go.

Their lease is up after the 2026 season, otherwise they wouldn't be pressing. Moreover, the potential new locations all have plenty of space for tailgaters. The DC site being considered is where RFK currently sits, which doesn't have much around it.

The NFL is not MLB. Most games are on weekends, the stadiums are only used 8-10 times a year, and every team has some kind of tailgating going on. In expensive real estate metros like NY, SF, Boston, DC, the best you can hope for something like Patriot Place, a suburban development of chain restaurants and stores developed by Patriots owner Robert Kraft next to Gillette Stadium. The Niners are starting something similar with the Related Santa Clara development across the street from Levi's. However, the issue around MetLife is that it's far more industrial than the other two.

Only a minority of people do the tailgate experience in those metro areas and there is no reason to accommodate that versus building a transit oriented stadium.

As for weekend use only, that has changed a lot. Even Dallas AT&T Stadium and Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium are being used year round. Neither are transit hot beds and the former is also a ****hole parking lot. But they have events year round. Dallas has a retractable roof while Vegas is permanently covered but with glass. A new Giants/Jets stadium could also have that.

There are articles going back to 2007 where the Commanders wanted a new stadium. Literally ten years after Fed-Ex field was created.

I remember when the Devils were a Colorado team and they held the contest to pick their name when they moved here.

My point was the Devils were never a NY team only NJ once they moved here. The Giants were forever a NY team and so were the Jets though their history is much shorter.
