Nowhere. "artists" and traffic clogged suburban central NJ have absolutely nothing in common. Please move to shared studio in Brooklyn or maybe Hoboken...

OP, check out the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area across the state line in PA. There are umpteen desirable one bedroom apartment options with full kitchens under $1300 a month.

Although not as numerous the Lansdale-Hatfield PA area has some similar options and the close proximity to Philadelphia might be a perk.

Thanks very much for the helpful suggestions. Since my original post I did find some affordable options in the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton areas. And I'll check out Lansdale-Hatfield PA now too, thanks again.

Either way, maybe check out Trenton.

I imagine your life experience is limited to watching Breaking Bad or The Wire. Both great shows, but maybe check out real life.

I doubt that. Since my original post I've seen loads of rooms for rent without use of a kitchen. Some people don't care about cooking, and could simply put a small fridge in their room if they need to It's a very inexpensive way to live.

Might work for a college student. Even when I was going to school in California 50 plus years ago and living in a converted garage it still had a kitchen. Maybe you'd be OK with a hot plate in that spare room. Or a coffee maker. I guess some have few if any needs at all.

It's truly amazing what is out there once you sift through all of the garbage posts. Some very miserable people hang out on this forum with too much time on their hands unfortunately/
