Does anyone know if Pop's BBQ in Madison NJ closed?
The address is 42 Lincoln Pl., when I call the phone number it is no longer in service., 973 301 0101
I'm not from that area so I can't check myself.
It was voted critics pick of best BBQ in New Jersey, by New Jersey monthly.
Supposed site for the restaurant, popscajun.net is down. Last review of it is from the Spring of 2009. If the number is out of service, that is probably a very good indicator that the restaurant is closed.
Not sure where you are from, but if this place is closed, and you still have serious BBQ craving, this place in Middlesex County is AMAZING!!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.... The Original Big Ed's BBQ - Home of the Best Ribs in Jersey

They have a problem staying in business as well. I've seen Big Ed's locations go out of business in Piscataway, South Brunswick, and Belmar.
Although I dislike chain restaurants, you really can't go wrong with Famous Dave's.

Wow, I never even knew Big Ed's was a chain.... I live in Parsippany though, and have only gone a few times when down by my boyfriend in Sayreville, so I don't know Middlesex County very well. I sure hope this one never goes under... if so I hope they atleast give warning so I can buy a couple cartons of their BBQ sauce!

Oh, the sauce is very good - I know it is sold (or WAS sold) in supermarkets, I remember seeing it in the North Brunswick shop-rite. But that was at least a year ago, when the Big Ed's South brunswick store was open.
God know's that most posts could use some help, but let us leave the English lesson for another post.
I still would like to know if Pop's BBQ in Madison is open or closed.
As far as Ed's and Dave's, yes they are good but not great.
I posted, twice, that if the website is down and the phone doesn't work, that's pretty muuch a 98 percent indicator that the place is closed.
Just because a restaurant wins accolades doesn't mean it is guaranteed to stay open. Sometimes there's a tax default, sometimes the owner dies, sometimes the food is great but the back office is lousy.
