Maybe you heard about this guy. He moved into a room at the New Yorker hotel and through some obscure law was able to say he wanted a lease for the room like an apartment lease. It went a lot further than that and thru a lot of court filings he managed to actually get the entire hotel ownership transferred to his name. He got the deed.

Well after 5 years they finally managed to evict him and now he's being brought up on fraud charges

Meanwhile he got a free place to stay in Manhattan for 5 years and also caused the hotel to lose 2.9 million in some sort of tax break they would have gotten if he hadn't started this whole thing

Seems like he was a smart ********* and a bunch of things fell through the cracks in order to allow this to happen. Wonder if he'll get convicted. I have a feeling he won't but at least he's not being a freeloader anymore.

Edit-that's weird, the site blocked the word FRAUD + STER

Insanity. But you have to wonder about the NYCDOF employees who didn't catch this fraudulent transaction. Expect more of this.

You know what the best part is? ZERO accountability. No one is held accountable. This is the system in NYC.

Hotel failed to throw him out of the window. That's on them. How do you own a hotel in Manhattan and not know the right people to deal with scum like that?

Exactly. Easy one. Suicide. Much cheaper than navigating NYC’s universal suffrage-created legal system.

If the city can't keep it's own records straight
Letitia is in for one heck of a time once
Donny is back.
