We Are Moving To Nc From Nj, My Husband Is A Avid Fisherman With A Boat He Trailers To The Water. Can You Tell Me How Far Drive Is The Boat Launch From Goldsboro? How Are The Schools In Goldsboro? Do Hurricanes Cause Severe Damage To This Area?

It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to Atlantic Beach from Goldsboro. And about 1 hour and 35 minutes to get to the Wilmington Beaches.

Also, if you live close to the Neuse river expect flooding occasionally from Hurricanes. Floyd and Fran hit Goldsboro very hard in 96, and 99. If you are away from the Neuse you will be fine.

Wind damage from hurricanes can be extensive. Ayden, which is about 20 miles from Goldsboro looked like a war zone after hurricane Irene in 2011. It took months to clean up all of the damage in and around Ayden, including all of Pitt County (Greenville, Winterville, Farmville etc).
