I agree. Body dysphoria can be a serious and self-destructive psychological disorder and deserves compassion and understanding. I'm just not sure accepting it as normal provides that.
People with this disorder are more prone to suicide and self harm if they don't seek psychological help. I commend the North Carolina leadership for standing up for truth in spite of the current zeitgeist to ignore it.
It doesn't matter if McCrory & Cronies think trans people are 'delusional', the law is stupid, a huge waste of money, a huge loss of income, mean-spirited, and unenforceable. What are they going to do — 'create jobs' by having bathroom police patrol every public restroom in the state?! There are already plenty of laws against assault no matter the gender involved.
Think about it, there are almost 750,000 registered sex offenders in this country. How many of THEM to go in the bathroom with you or your wives or kids?
This law was always about the state government sticking it to the Charlotte City Council. They got bonus points for sticking it to the LGBTQ community, too!

Are you implying that only folks with body dysphoria identify as trans?
I don't really have an opinion about NC, but I also feel strongly the transgenderism IS a mental, not physical problem. Wouldn't it be wonderful If transgender people could be healed in ways other than surgery and drugs?
