I drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway quite a bit and it was spectacular this morning. It is the best color I have seen in years around Blowing Rock and Boone.

I agree. I was afraid the two previous days of rain would wash away too many leaves, but the color today from Newland to Boone, especially up on Grandfather Mtn, was about as good as it gets.

I haven't been anywhere out of town in months. I think I'll drive up. Thanks for letting me know.

I made a day trip to the Greensboro area on Friday, and the stretch of US 421 from the Parkway into Boone was gorgeous. That was before 2 days of rain.

That was a frog strangler! Thanks for the information. I'm going anyway! I need a change of scene.

In our area the rain and wind have put us past what I consider prime viewing times, but it's still beautiful compared to last year. The next three days are supposed to be bright and clear, so I wouldn't hesitate to come up and "peep" at the BRP or WNC in general.

Some of the views along the BRP are breathtaking during the Fall season.

I get that. My expectations are realistic, lol. I just need to open the sun roof and go. Thanks.

I'm going to West Virginia on Saturday for some good color I hope?
I just can't decide where I want to go?

If your only reason is to see the leaves, you don't have to drive that far.
