split flow upper air pattern.... storms well to our south and most of the cold air locked to our north. In other words.... balance of winter warm and dry. Now the fall season would trend cooler and wetter compared to normals

yes....moderate to strong.... but as always more forces at work than just one thing. Not every El-Nino is the same...but if it is in the high end moderate or strong which it is now or forecast to be then it can overpower over teleconnections.... for the eastern U.S. El-Ninos have a bit less impact but overall a wetter and a bit cooler southern U.S. and may be a bit more stormy east coast. May be a bit drier Great Lakes-Ohio Valley
