The answer is a resounding yes. In mid-price (about $725k and down) brand-new developments, I would say that Indian buyers account for at least 1/3 of the sale. This is from looking at the last name of the buyers on the Loudoun County web site. I have several Indian friends and they told me that it is a custom in India to buy brand new homes.

Don't kid yourselves that there are no gangs in Ashburn or anywhere else in Northern Virginia. Just a couple years ago an older couple, doing a pre-dawn morning walk, were attacked. The woman gang raped and the man was killed during a "gang initiation" in a very upscale part of Lansdowne along a very busy road.

Unfortunately, the man was retired military, had a concealed carry but did not think it was necessary to be armed that morning in their lovely neighborhood.

True but anecdotal in that these young men were out for trouble and these folks were wrong place wrong time. So horrible because of the fact it was so unusual.
