Possible relocation to the Pentagon. Looking to be within walking distance to the metro as our car is unreliable. Does anyone have info, pros/cons, about the Potomac Yard/Potomac Greens/Braddock Metro area? Would prefer to buy at least a 3 bedroom. Thanks!

You want to buy a 3 bedroom close to the city, but can't afford a reliable car? Not sure you'll find what you want in this area.....

All those areas are fine. What's your budget? Walking distance to the metro that close to DC you are looking at $700K+ for 3br.

I don't know if I'd call Potomac Yard walkable to a metro, but there are plenty of buses in the area that go to the Crystal City/Braddock Rd Metro or you could take a bus on Rt 1 direct (9A) to the Pentagon and skip the metro.

A three bedroom house near Braddock Rd. Metro will start at about $750K. About $500-600K for a duplex. Condo and townhouse prices vary. Potomac Yard doesn't have a Metro Station yet, and I think the townhouses typically run about $800K.

I know something of Potomac Yard: For that area, the middle school/high schools are iffy, but the long-term upside is high. Nearby Arlandria and the remaining project housing just south of Potomac Yard in Old Town have higher crime but are not truly scary.
