OP---One thing to keep in mind if you're considering moving to WV ---- We've been fortunate to have had mild winters as of late. How long that will last---who knows? If we get a snowstorm, WV, as a rule, gets hit harder than we do as it is further west. If you have to commute to IAD during a snowstorm, it will take you a very long time.

At the same time, please note that Jefferson County WV (Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown, etc.) is the easternmost county in WV.

Winchester VA and Berryville VA are farther west than Charles Town. Based on what I can find Jefferson County averages 20" snow/year and Herndon VA averages 18" snow/year.

Not sure why there are so many far off recommendations....There are some condos in your price range in Ashburn and Leesburg, which would both be close to amenities and an easy commute to the airport.

After flying internationally, the last thing I want to do is drive 2 hours home...

As well as some in Reston which I posted links with the listings.

Now I'm curious and will take a look at Ashburn and Leesburg.

Here's what's in Ashburn in OP's price range:

https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...7_M56171-92553

The few others that are listed in his price range are "pending".

Here's Leesburg:

https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...=srp-list-card

Again, there are others in that^^^^price range but they were listed as either "pending" or "contingent"

Yes, the OP may have to act quickly when one comes available, but Reston, Ashburn or Leesburg would mean a much better commute than Winchester, WV, or Colonial Beach.

I agree that many posting such far out places aren't being realistic.
