Is the 44512 zip code a safe part of Youngstown? I am thinking of moving to the area north of Boardman, OH. I don't know anything about Youngstown. I find many midwest cities with high crime rates to have the crime isolated. That is, you are either in a decent area or you are not. Is that how Youngstown is? It seems like southern Youngstown is safer based on maps of crime rates. But I have no idea.

44512 is pretty much all Boardman. The only part of that zip that is Youngstown city limits is the few blocks south of Midlothian Blvd, east of Market St, north of Maple Dr, and west of Euclid Blvd. You'll be fine.

Default That's really Boardman

Boardman is a good area. Although, I personally would prefer to
be a little farther south into Boardman. South Youngstown
(not including Boardman), is NOT a nice place to live.

No, the south side of youngstown is not safe. But, boardman is safe. The zip code 44512 is boardman, not the south side. The south side of youngstown and Boardman are 2 different places and school districts.

Default Boulevard Park

Small Youngstown neighborhood that extends into the Boardman area is really quite
nice.

Not being a naysayer here - I feel safe enough - but in the interest of full disclosure - Youngstown is a bit smaller than many urban areas with regard to "bad" areas - meaning, you are never really more than a mile or two from the wrong place.

Unlike, say, Chicago, where you can say, Oh, that's 25 miles from here...

Not so, Youngstown.
