As an Ohioan, no matter what part of the state you come from, do you identify culturally more with Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, Erie, Lehigh Valley, Harrisburg, etc.) or Indiana/Illinois (Gary, Hammond, Fort Wayne, Chicago, Peoria)?

Western PA, not as far as the Lehigh Valley or Harrisburg though.

Actually, more with Kentucky. Since that's where my family is from, I can see it from my kitchen window, and I work on that side of the river.....

Not knowing what the culture of those areas is purported to be, I don't knowingly identify with any of them.

Northeast Ohio, so I felt more attuned with PA and the NE.

Out of those options, I choose Pennsylvania as a Cincinnati native.

Greater Pittsburgh seems pretty similar to Greater Cincinnati in many ways.

Indiana is truly a remote and mysterious land. I once knew a guy who said he was going to try to make his way through uncharted territory to the semi-legendary city of Indianapolis.

We all gave him gifts to help him on his journey: a spear with a finely crafted point, a woolen cloak made from the fleece of Mrs. Johnson's prize sheep, a satchel filled with dried mushrooms, hearty and dense crusted breads, and several strips of dried venison. The mayor even gave him his finest pair of leather boots to protect his feet on the untrodden landscapes and perilous, trap-laden trails used by the half-man/half-beast inhabitants of the dark forests and sunbleached fields of darkest Indiana.

Sadly, he was never heard from again. Whether he was the prey of wild beasts or waylaid and eaten by cannibals, we will never know.

I live in the Toledo area, so there is an overwhelming connection to Michigan for so many reasons. But, given the OP's only two options I would have to pick Indiana/Illinois.

Living in Youngstown, there is definitely a connection with PA. But I grew up in the Massillon/Canton area, and I felt I had more of a connection to PA there, too. But that's probably because I had a few family members who were originally from Pittsburgh.
