First off Cincy may lean, but they're still blue.

Secondly I am pretty sure he means because of that whole... river catching on fire thing. I STILL hear that from people. And it's so far into the distant past now, few actually know that rivers were catching fire all over the Midwest back then. It was such a common thing, it never made the news until ours was put on a magazine cover.

Yeah it’s pretty ridiculous. Do people even think of Three Mile Island when they hear Pittsburgh anymore? The EPA exists for a reason.

What people do you know still bring that up? The people who still talk about the the river catching on fire are the low hanging fruit crowd; they do that because it's easier to do. They just wanna flex on somebody by putting down a city to hype theirs up or make themselves feel better. That's like a grown man dunkin' on a child and acting like he's the best basketball player on the planet. Also, I don't hear people hype up Cincy like that either. Also, thanks to social media, politics and mainstream media; Ohio is the whipping boy for every state in America.

No, it's not if everybody and their mama makes jokes about it for 60+ years and that's all you're city is known for and have every stand-up comedian making jokes about it for decades. I haven't heard a lot of Cincinatti jokes over the years. Also, most of you look at it and think or say, "At least that didn't happen to my city." A cow caused the Chicago Fire but nobody keeps bringing that up constantly.

This isn't a knock on Cincinnati at all, but I think Cleveland is just a nationally more relevant place than Cincinnati, so it gets both more praise and more criticism. Maybe I'm wrong, but just seems like Cleveland has more cultural references, news items, famous people, events, etc.

Cincinnati gets its share of attention (i.e. Bengals, Reds, Skyline Chilli, Cincinnati Music Festival).
