I love cooking. I love latin food like ossobucco and also love home made soups with chicken necks perfect for chicken soup. Half the time Crest foods and everyone are out of plantains! Hmmfff...I am still fairly new to town and have noticed the local grocery store doesn't carry anything but your american "basics". In Florida there were a lot of latin meat markets I shopped at via word of mouth. All I can find here are latin restaurants and I really want to do the cooking myself. Any suggestions?

Try the Vietnamese grocery store in Chinatown on Military Road. Butchers on site, very reasonable, also a wide variety of vegetables.

There are two across the street from each other. The Chinese market is rather authentic. The Vietnamese market also has an isle with import goods from jelly to pasta. Have you tried the mercado of Buy4Less. The website should still be up; no flyers.
