The dangerous snow and ice sometimes on the roads during the winter are another reason why winter will never be my favorite season. If you have ever tried driving on the Interstate at night during a heavy snowstorm, you might know what I'm talking about.

You may get your non-wish. Snow is in the forecast for parts of OK next week.

I can honestly say I haven't had to wear a coat during the winter in I don't remember when. It just hasn't been that cold down here in southwest Oklahoma for me. A jacket does just fine when I do have to go out during a cold spell. (I have been retired for quite a while and don't have to go out if I don't feel like it.)

Snow and ice down here close things down, and yes, I have driven in a heavy snowstorm. It's difficult, I will admit, but it happens and it is one of those situations that I avoid if I can. Otherwise, I just take "snow driving" slow and easy. It's not like a snowstorm hits frequently down here, and like I said, when one does everything shuts down for days.

Snow is possible only in the OK panhandle area this week. Most of the state will just get a cold rain. I am looking forward to it.

The cold rain is a good sign that the summer heat will get broken. Usually after we get that cool "State Fair" rain we might get a short run of low 90s or two at worst in late September, but usually we are home free after those rains. Two months of temperate weather.

Sounds good.

While this summer was a mild summer, I think we can all agree that with a summer this mild, if you lived in a first floor, East facing apartment in OKC area, you would do quite well with no AC, and your indoor temp would be 76-78. This summer in OKC was milder than even Southern California, which reached 110 plus a couple days ago.

Why do you always think you know how other people think?
