As far as safe is concerned - sidewalks go up when the sun goes down, PD is local, firefighters have their lawn services. Beauty shops still outnumber CBD stores, one mediocre WalMart (focused on on-line customers), one rather shabby Cash Saver grocery store.

Medical/dental options depend on your insurance.

City amenities are on the official web site. Library is geared towards kids as is all of Mustang.

Fast food, pizza, a local coffee roaster/shop.

Contact local school districts about openings and requirements.
Mustang is technically only twelve square miles, but then there's this kind of Greater Mustang area between Mustang and Yukon that is booming with new houses including Taber homes, a more upmarket builder. There's an Aldi Market in Yukon if you want more fresh groceries. And for the OP, who's from Arkansas, you should get a Costco membership, which I know you don't have in Arkansas. It is a thirty minute drive from Yukon, though. I guess driving thirty minutes is nothing for me, because I come from California, where there's lots of commuters commuting over an hour one way, but I guess in Arkansas, thirty minutes is a long way.

Mustang is also not in the tornado zone as much as Moore, and tends to be a bit less humid in the summer than other parts of Greater OKC.

Moore does have an incredibly new and impressive indoor sports center and outdoor aquatic center, though.

Thanks, everyone! With the interest rates being so low, we’re thinking about buying a house instead of renting. I’m used to tornadoes. In Central AR, we live in “Fatality Alley.” The tornadoes that develop in OK tend to hit us in the middle of the night. Fewer people are paying attention to the weather during the night, thus more fatalities. We have a storm shelter and will definitely purchase one for a home in OKC.
