Has anyone noticed that their allergies are worse this week than in the past? If so, do you know what it is? Cottonwood, ragweed, .....?

I'm over in Des Moines, and it's been a rough spring for me. For what it's worth, mid-July starts ragweed season.

For the last two months, it's been tree pollen time: ash, mullberry, cottonwood, oak . . .

I don't usually have them until ragweed season, but every 5 - 6 years, it seems like there is a bumper crop of pollen in the early spring. That's why I started tracking it again. I'd like to find out what trees are making me have symptoms without paying megabucks for an allergy test.

Does it make a difference, of what plant is causing it..wont it be difficult to avoid...and isnt it the same medication for hayfever....I dont have it thankfully..but other allergies..but my sons have hayfever quite bad... some here blame..rapeseed.... good luck..Meemur..

Dizzybint -- you're right, I use the same meds for allergies -- but if I knew for sure what was setting off my spring problems, I'd have a better idea of when to limit outside activities and what to avoid. For example, I know that I have a problem with ragweed, so I use a city bike trail and stay upwind of all of those fields south of the city at the beginning and end of the season. At the height of the season, it doesn't matter. I pretty much have to stay in the a/c but then it's usually in the 90s and everyone else is hanging out indoors.

Hellish illness and nowadays should be eradicated,but it seems more are suffering...I see what your up against... do you have the dry spray to put up your nose.. it turns to a sort of gel.... it might help hopefully..I got it for my own allergies but think more for pollen..all the best ..x
