Hi guys ! I’m new to the Omaha area and was curious if I could get some information on a neighborhood I was looking at to buy a house ! The home is located on Park Lane Dr and N 60th. Is this considered North Omaha ? And if so would recommend moving there ? Is it safe ?

Diverse working class neighborhood. Housing in neighborhoods like that are a steal, but don't expect much equity down the road; people in Omaha buy a home, not an investment. Where do you live now?

It's a neighborhood where when interviewed by the local television station all say it's always been quiet area until the gang shooting in their driveway.

Depends on who you ask and how well informed they are. There are still people who consider North Omaha to be everything north of Dodge St and east of 72nd street.

The post in the link below is an excellent description of how people confuse "north Omaha" and "North Omaha". Sadly, the poster who gave this excellent explanation disappeared not long after making this post.

It's been a long time now, but I had friends and relatives who lived in that general area in the mid 2000s with no complaints.

I think the same too.. cool. I dont like this whole " I buy homes for investments" kind of mind like in competitive places. A home is to live in. And do a lot of people see that extra money? I dont think so.I might want to look into N Omaha now, sounds like my peeps already.
