I currently live in the DC area. The neighborhoods I mentioned in my previous post would remind you of Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Cleveland Park, Palisades, Tacoma Park, Cathedral Heights, Silver Spring, Carter Baron, Mount Pleasant, and similar neighborhoods.

Please don't bash me for saying this, but the only place where I truly felt uncomfortable being in was the Near North Side neighborhood.

I love north Omaha though. I've been up there many times and used to drive up 30th quite a bit. The rest of the neighborhoods in Omaha are just fine. I would not hesitate to drive through Midtown, downtown, or even north Omaha at night; never had trouble whatsoever.

I grew up in North Omaha too, 41st and Ames to be exact. It wasn't a great neighborhood when I lived there, but I wasn't afraid for my safety either.

That's what I was thinking.

Though I'm not intimately familiar with it, I know that Aksarben Village is going up, it's close to the Interstate, etc. I've heard nothing bad about it at all, and the neighborhoods look pretty nice.

Do some research on a few towns around Omaha IE; Papillion, Lavista, Gretna,
Bennington and Council Bluffs, IA .
Reason I tell you this is becasue the Taxes are high in Omaha and are going to be raised here real soon. Did you here about the new Omaha Sewer Tax? an extra 50.00 a month to revamp the broken down sewer system paid by all property owners. That is on top of everything else.
