Feel sorry for folks who live in the past, 'everything used to be better,' makes living in the present harder to appreciate, and all we have is today.
Eight billion folks on a shrinking rock = there are no more Mayberry's, so find just need to find a place that checks enough boxes and make a stand.
And make peace with the truth that the only place you can control is between your ears.

There are hundreds of Mayberry's, in Oregon alone.

Aunt Bee's are getting fewer, but plenty of Barney's, Opie's, and Otis.

Andy?, stay tuned, he'll arrive here shortly.

BTW, there was a 2 yr long thread on C-D "looking for Mayberry". Well chronicled here and on their own website. They ended up back home in WA, but not for lack of many acceptable places. It was a pleasant journey.

Pretty simple to create a Mayberry spreadsheet, and have AI 'find-your-spot'. That will save a lot of time and money. Nice project for a rainy day. (Coming soon).
