Hi folks.
The categories for Oregon cities are only Portland, Eugene, Salem and Bend.
I would like a category for the Oregon Coast. If you agree, please contact city-data.
Will make threads easier to find.
Thanks.

They used to have a "Coastal" category. They went to the current category's about 10 years ago.

There is a search feature for C-D if you don't want to scroll through the Oregon forum. I suspect that there are not enough posts about the coast to keep a subforum open just for those.

I've never looked for one but its a safe bet that there are several Oregon coast forums easily available elsewhere.

Makes me wonder about people from out of state wanting to change everything including the forums about the area as soon as they are brand new to the area.

Just a suggestion to make your life easier, made with good intentions. When you move to a new area, go with the flow. Fit into the local culture for awhile before you start agitating to change the way things are done.

I don't believe there was ever an Oregon Coast forum. To the best of my knowledge the forums have always been what they are now.

Oregon (2005)
Portland (2007)
Eugene area (2008)
Salem and Bend (2012)

I've been here since 2007, and in my time there has never been an Oregon Coast forum.

I'm going to throw out a suggestion for those of you who want a coastal forum. North Idaho doesn't have it's own forum, but we have a thread called The North Idaho Front Porch where we post stuff specific to North Idaho. It stays busy enough that it is always on the first page. Not enough for our own forum, but a decent enough place for us locals to post local stuff.

The idea was stolen from the Montana forum. I don't know if it was their idea or if they saw it someplace else and borrowed the idea.

It would be easy enough to start one and it would soon become obvious how much traffic there is for Coastal Oregon.
