Possible transfer to MCO Orlando International airport - would like to be within about 1/2 or so drive back/forth. Have been looking down in Kissime/St. Cloud - looks to be good 'on paper', but do not know traffic patterns.

Which directions around the airport are the heaviest overall traffic patterns - my schedule will rarely be during the 9-to-5 rush hour traffic. For instance, I mapped a house in Kissime which said it was a 15 minute drive to airport, but realistically have no idea what that would be with traffic.

Any areas within distance - north, south, east, west would be helpful --- we will work with an outside circle and work our way inward.

Can't thank you enough!

any reason why Kissimmee? There are better areas close to the airport.... try Lake Nona, Hunters Creek, Dr Phillips or Belle Isle

Hi there -

I am paying cash for a house, don't want to mortgage up and am only spending about $140-150k ... Kissime/St. Cloud seemed to have some decent newer homes for the money and some short sale opportunities. I did look in those areas, but out of my range.

Well, you could do St. Cloud and take Narcoossee Road. But it's still quite a drive compared to other areas.

Have you also looked at the Conway area? It's closer to the airport than most areas in Kissimmee.

Kissimmee is not really near the airport, if Lake Nona is out of your price range then try Hunters Creek, there is lots of real estate churning in the area, its just a matter of finding the right opportunity.. Just keep in mind that most middle-class homes in the Orlando area will be over $200k..

I'm in south downtown Orlando near hourglass lake and it's less than 20 minutes to the airport and the traffic is rarely bad. Anything in south downtown or Conway will give you easy access to the airport

Thanks for all this - what, though, are the general high traffic roads into/out of the airport area? so hard to tell from map...

I live in Clermont (off 27 just south of 50 in the 34711) and it takes 33 minutes from my front door to Terminal B. My time is worth more than a couple bucks in tolls, so I gladly pay them rather than use the back roads.

That said, I'd be looking in Lake Nona, SoDo, Conway, Hunters Creek, Belle Isle. No way I'd live in Kissimmee, and St. Cloud is just so far from everything.
