Hi,

I was wondering if any of you have experiences with Montverde Academy, Park Maitland, Windermere Prep, or Orlando Science Elementary. I know that is somewhat of a range, but we are looking for an elementary school with a diverse student body, STEM-based focus (or offerings), and quality education. Would any of you recommend one or some of these schools? Whether you do or not, we would appreciate any feedback regarding this schools. TIA!

Lake Highland Prep would be the top choice... followed by Windermere Prep.

Lake highland will be the most diverse and whole child focused. I have 3 kids there. The STEAM, coding robotics programs are far superior to any of the ones you've mentioned. I'd probably put montverde 2nd based on the number of faculty and staff from lake highland that are working there now the Windermere. Park Maitland behind all of the others.

Feel free to private message me any questions about the school. We've been there for over a decade.

Agreed about Lake Highland being the top. Almost sent my kids there.
I'm a sucker for Windermere though... Love the school, the campus, the faculty, their sports programs, etc.

Lake Highland Prep is more diverse by leagues when compared to Windermere Prep

Thank you everyone. Lake Highland Prep wasn't considered, because we were looking for a secular school. Does a person's religious background (or lack thereof) matter? I will definitely look into this school though.

From the LHP website, "Our student body comprises many different faiths, and we welcome families of all religions to Lake Highland Preparatory School. At LHPS, we teach nine tenets of Christianity, which we believe are widely accepted values by people of many faiths. They are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

My kids have friends from every race and religious background. There are some prayers before large events but they aren't fire and brimstone and more basic giving thanks and general values based messages that are common among all religions or just accepted practices of being a good person.

No whether your kid is religious or not, he or she should have no issues at all with Lake Highland Prep.
