I am currently residing in BC but am moving to work in Ottawa and will live in Gatineau ( I know, it's complicated!) this summer. The thing is, how should my health insurance work then? I guess I will be still paying MSP ( the BC health insurance), but does that entitle me to see doctors in Ontario/Gatineau? When I look through the official website in Ontario, it claims that it takes 3 months to process the application of health insurance in Ontario. However, I will be working there for only three months! I do have some medical conditions that my doctor in BC would like to refer me to a specialist (hopefully I can see on in the east coast) so I want to make sure that I am covered. Finally, my parents will be staying with me in Gatineau, and can you guys recommend a way to get them covered as well? I don't mind paying a bit more. I just want all of us to be covered. Any information would be useful. Thanks a lot!
