I went to Loblaws and I was told IGA in Gatineau but to be honest Loblaws is not cheap and IGA is outrageous.

Walmart is not that great either.

Any supermarket with cheaper prices? I am mostly into vegetables and grains.

IGA is a lower high-end store in Gatineau.

Cheapest in Gatineau is Super C or Maxi.

There is a Super C five minutes from Ottawa across the King Edward Bridge, just off the Boulevard du Casino exit off Autoroute 5.

There is also a Maxi not too far from there near the corner of Montclair and St-Joseph.

In most major cities in North America that I have visited, I find that produce is cheaper in Asian grocery stores. Did you try Chinatown in Ottawa yet?

That is not a bad suggestion. Chinatown is right on the western edge of downtown so easily accessible if you're central.

I have shopped there before but never for fruit and vegetables so I have no idea what it's like.

There is also a fairly large Asian supermarket in the far south end called T&T. It's at the corner of Hunt Club and Riverside.

I am familiar with T&T because it is a subsidiary of Loblaws and thereby a chain supermarket like Loblaws with locations all throughout Canada. I visited one in Markham back in 2016. I do recall their produce being very fresh though my uncle who lives in the York Region told me they are actually pricier than other Asian supermarkets in Canada, presumably because they are a Loblaws brand. It's worth the O.P. to try and check it out though.

Supposedly. The usual pattern. New, tons of posts in a short time, lived everywhere, etc.

Best to ignore.
