since Friday is Valentine's Day and since it looks like visiting is allowed that evening. Maybe I will go then. Or maybe the day after is better. Either way, I hope it goes well and it is ends up being worth it and the environment or other people there are not bad to see. I guess it might be good to see her mother is alright.

Have you heard from her? If so, how is she doing so far?
Hm... I think that will be difficult for her to see, but not the end of the world. Again, I think the important part is the story you and your wife tell her about the experience. Probably the main thing she'll take away from the experience is whatever you tell her. Mom did a bad thing, but here is why (don't excuse your wife of course but soften the blow by explaining she was having a tough time or whatever it was that was going on), the important thing is she is doing the time, we're still the same strong, loving family now that we were before and we will get through this together... always accept responsibility for your actions, it's never OK to do the wrong thing... etc. etc. etc. I think there's a lot to pull from this story that can be positive for your daughter but I understand that of course it is probably also painful and embarrassing for all of you. I just think it's that fidelity that is the most important thing for your daughter to see in all this.
