My cousin and I are looking to relocate by the 1st of August. The town I'm in now the jobs are becoming extinct. I was just laid off by my company making really good money. Unfortunately that was something very uncommon in this are (to make that kind of money) I'm not going to live this way any longer when I have the determination and education to do more with my life. This has been a long time dream of mine and I'm determined to take my chance. I do have children but they are all older and will stay with their dad here till in into a place that is permanent. Do want them to see me struggle there.

Problem is, I have the money to rent something there but they will not rent to me due to not having employment established there yet. I have tried to secure a job but am getting the same on that end as well. They do not want to take a chance on me if I'm not living there. So i was thinking of trying a 30 day rental at a Hotel to get on the Job hunt. Get that established and then I can look into renting something. I can buy a home now where I live in Tennessee, but Why? I refuse to struggle for the rest of my life. I want more than this.

Any recommendations on a long time stay at some hotels? I'm open to anywhere around Destin, the job market seems to be really good there which is why I have chosen this are. I'm also open to being out some, maybe 40 mins or so. As long as its affordable and can get to jobs easily.

You're trying to relocate smack in the middle of peak tourism season when the Motel 6 can charge $150+ a night. I'd try maybe the Crestview area which seems less impacted by seasonal tourism hotel prices.

With a good track record of time in your job, it may be time to consider taking your skills into a different arena.

Lots of firms can use people with proven office skills.

Even some government positions. Move fast on alternatives as the unemployment time ratio is in your favor.

Good luck!

There's a big FedEx or UPS depot that recently went in the Mossy Head area midway between Crestview and DeFuniak Springs. It's not exactly close to the beach but would at least get you into the vicinity.
