Hattie was born in New Brunswick, Canada between 1879-1899. In 1935 she married Aaron Craig and moved to Maine, USA. It is unknown were she went following Aaron's death or were she spent her later years.

Looking for some help to solve the mystery.

Thanks

C

Is this the person you're looking for
Hattie Augusta Pugh
Born: 25 Apr 1880
Keswick, New Brunswick, Canada
Died: 1959

Daughter of William Henry Pugh and Mary Sloat? There are several "family trees" at ancestry.com. The problem is these show her spouse as Newton Lindsay.

Hi thanks for the reply, I will assume she is the same person. What I do know is she was married to my G.Grandfather in 1935, in New Brunswick, Canada. I have found a boarder crossing for them just days after they were married. As the story goes she was a "house keeper", he had health issues and need to be taken care of. When he died she left never to be heard from again. I have no idea if she came back to Canada of stayed State side. As well not sure were she died or is buried. I am left with many questions and few answers. I have had a look at the trees, and they do not seem to have a contact for me to ask the questions.

Also I have look for Newton and cannot seem to find information on him either I thought I might be able to go down that road but....

Are you related?

C

This is somewhat confusing. There is an Aaron Craig whose wife is listed as Sarah, both before and after the record I just posted. And this Aaron Craig is making rather frequent border crossings.

Aaron Bunyon Craig is my G.Grandfather, his first wife was Sarah, and she was the mother to all of Aaron's children. Aaron and Sarah moved with their children to Millinocket, Maine after 1900. I have that information in my notes at home. Aaron, Sarah and their children were born in Hartland, NB. Aaron and Sarah ran a boarding house in Millinocket for a while. Sarah died and he married Hattie. My Grandmother returned to Canada to raise her family with my Grandfather. Aaron visited a great deal after Sarah died, so that is why there are so many crossings. At some point hattie came into the picture. All those who knew her are gone, the living family all rememeber Aaron had the second wife but not who shw was, were she came from, or were she went when Aaron died.

Welcome to my world of the mystery of Hattie Augusta Pugh Craig....

She was a member of the family and she should be acknowledged. Now just to fined her.

Hi

I have done some looking and found the following:
Newton Herbert Lindsay - died March 19, 1920 York, Co. New Brunswick
Parents: William and Annie Lindsay
Married: Hattie Pugh Nov 5, 1902
Children:
Baby-Male March 1, 1903
Gladys Pauline Oct 24, 1904 - Married: Alan Dick King - Sept 09, 1926
Mary Gertrude June 27, 1906 - Sept 19, 1906
Hazel Louise Dec 06, 1914

I have found 2 birth years for Hattie April 25, 1879 and 1889 not sure which is correct.
So with the new information that we have put together is great. I am still left with were did she go when Aaron died?

The 1911 Census has me concerned with her age... that is just a bit old to be having children...

Thoughts???

Found the obituary for Hattie's daughter Hazel (with Newton Lindsay). Hazel passed away in 2008. It references names of her children & refers to Hattie as "Harriet".

Her sister Gladys remarried and became Gladys King Wisely.

In Memoriam.ca

Since it's so recent perhaps we can locate one of her children and they can solve the mystery.
