I'm looking for distant Phelps relatives living in or around Silverton, Independence or Stayton. My great great uncle was Benjamin Phelps of Silverton. One of his daughters was Ida (Phelps) McDowell, who is buried in the Silverton Cemetery.
Don't know if they are related, but there are some Phelps in Lincoln City who have been here forever. Homesteaded. The Dad was a logger who helped clear the Salmon River Highway (18). I'll see if I can find out if they are related to the Silverton Phelps.
I am a Phelps. Or my mother was anyway. Wise Loring Phelps and Charlotte Huff.
