Trains to Dave & Buster's in South Philly (NOT counting subways or any 69th St trains) (Darby: houses, garden)

What about the (mostly) north-south train line that runs close to the river and airport? I personally detest 69th Street and any of the trains that go through Center City and the dead parts of West Philly.

Also, where do the trains that take people to the airport load/unload (other than on airport property)? I know either Amtrak or Septa has trains that run through it, but I forget which.

And do any of the trains that cross Woodland Ave in Southwest Philly (NOT the trolleys that run in the street) actually drop off passengers on that street? I know a railroad crossing is on Woodland right outside the city line with Darby and Delaware County.

How many trains in SEPTA's system, that are not trolleys, don't go through center city or 69th street at some point? I think you may be out of luck.

Until the DRPA builds that Waterfront light rail line, I don't see any other trains you could catch to Dave and Buster's.

Wait a minute... does that mean the tracks that cross Oregon Ave (passing the Hyundai Rotem plant along with other industrial buildings) are abandoned? If so that would be dreadful. No wonder so much of that area is in awful shape, despite the nice newer businesses such as D&B close by.

These are freight tracks. It's just north of the Greenwich Yard. The passenger terminal for the Pennsylvania railroad was Broad Street Station, then Suburban.

Get off at Market East and take the El eastbound to 2nd. Is an easy walk from there, but Penn's Landing can be a little desolate at night so be careful (no earbuds or texting).

The Media/Elwyn line stops at 49th Street, which is very sketchy at night. When I studied at Temple and commuted home at night, passengers would occasionally get on the R3 accidentally. The conductor and other passengers forebode the rider from getting off there. The station is submerged from street level and is very dark. Boarding/alighting count is very low (~20/day) and I'm surprised it's still open.

The R2/NEC ROW wisely skips righ through West Philly.

Almost all of the tracks in deep South Philly are still active, used by CSX and other short-hauls to shuffle freight around that industrial center.

Delaware Ave below IKEA is very industrial and has been ugly forever. But make no mistake, Pennsport is a healthy community and is quickly turning into yuppieville.

Dave & Busters is not in South Philly. Depending on one's definition, it could be considered Northern Liberties. One of the easiest ways to get there is to take the El to the Spring Garden stop. Unfortunately, you've already established that is isn't your preferred mode of transit.

EDIT: I saw that mcguirk suggested the 2nd Street stop. I suppose that would work too; Spring Garden just seemed to be a little shorter commute to me, but probably not by that much.

Those tracks are very much in service for freight, and have never been used for anything else. They continue north to Delaware Ave where they connect with the former City Belt Line that still serves all the piers along Delaware Ave, as well as warehouses and the Hyundai Rotem plant you mentioned where they just turned out the last of SEPTA's Silverliner V, which departed on those very tracks that cross Oregon Ave (under power from a CSX diesel locomotive of course).
