Understood. However change requires people stepping up to help with these ongoing problems and that means running for office. Tbh, I want Brian Sims to come home, leave Harrisburg (where he spends so much time butting heads with upstate ultra-conservatives) and challenge Kenney in the 2019 Dem mayoral primary. He will be 40. A perfect age and he's very familiar with everything going on here I'm sure.

I could definitely get behind that. I voted for Kenney in 2015, but I'm very much over him now.

Although I would miss Sims making Metcalf look like the redneck fool that he is.

You just reaffirmed why I like Metcalf. Thanks.

I'm not interested in labeling Metcalf. Plus he is entitled to his free speech and beliefs. Leave him be. But, I would love it if Sims would just come home. He is wasting his time in Harrisburg. He has got to know that by now.

That's surprising to me because Metcalf is an idiot and it has nothing to do with his politics.

You like someone who says some of the most ridiculous things like he has? Sad.

Of course he is. His free speech has led me to conclude he is an idiot and a panderer to the worst segments of this state's population.

It's the same kind of missuse of logic that gave us Trump.

Don't want to derail the thread but Metcalf strikes me as not particularly literate. I, personally, don't have a problem with smart conservatives like Ross Douhat or George Will. I may not agree with them but they are worth my time. It's especially important to me to listen to more than just folks I agree with.
