Hello
My Fiance and I will be moving to Philadelphia in a few months. We are currently looking for a safe and friendly area to live that is not far from the city transit, so that he could easily commute to a from Temple Med. We have both been to Chestnut Hill and loved it however, we did not have a car so I am not to sure if it will meet our needs. We would love to find an area that is near easy conveniences such as Target and Costco while also providing a suburban neighborhood. Any suggestions?

Tough call. Easiest way to Temple Med from the burbs is to take the train to Fern Rock and switch to the subway. Your best bet is probably around the Jenkintown train station - you could get a bus to Target from there as well, but other conveniences are within walking distance. Forget about Costco from there without a car.

Look on Septa.org and see where the stations along the R2, R3, and R5 are (all three stop at Jenkintown) because they all stop at Fern Rock.

I agree that the Jenkintown area is the best for suburbs but with quick commute to Temple.
