I didn't figure it was prudent to make another topic that discusses the housing market, so I thought I'd ask her. I purchased a 1600 square foot home on Hawes and Guadalupe in Mesa, AZ. I paid 183k for it-- wasn't a foreclosure so everything is getting fixed up and the appraiser says that he expects the home to be valued a little more than 183k.

In this economy I would just be happy you have a roof! Don't sweat it too much, no body really knows. My home is already below the loan I have and I didn't buy during the boom, I bought before, so it's anyones guess.
You did pretty good I think, just ride the wave, I wouldn't worry it can't go down to much more or else we will have a depression and if that happens it won't matter how much you bought for, the banks will start closing loans and demanding payment in full and foreclosing everyones homes. Hey everyone! Bet you lot thought you'd seen the last of me,
Thought I would just pop in and see whats happening.
As for me, there have been some major changes. My second granddaughter was born in February and four days later my dad died. I made it home to the States in time to spend 10 hours with my dad before he "left" us. After returning to the UK we made the decision to move back to California instead of Arizona so we can get the hell out of this crappy country ASAP. Good news...looks like we'll be back home by the end of August or the beginning of September, just waiting for our appointment at the Embassy now for my hubby's Visa. Almost all of our furniture is sold, boxes are ready for the shipping company to pick up and our suitcases are half-way packed already
My heart was set on returning to AZ, but we are just as happy to be going to Cali instead. At least we will be back in the USA, where gasoline doesn't cost almost $13 a gallon!
