In the spirit of participation, I have added my humble entry. I would appreciate your thoughts and feedback on the same. Will help me hone my skills.
Also, I notice my resized pics lack the clarity that many of your resized pics have. Is it the software?
BonVivant,
Beautiful neighborhood! Lovely housing, lake, overall - just lovely. I would use Paint Shop Pro (it's the only graphic software that I know how to use) and clarify to lighten up. The sizing looks good, unless you wanted a more zoomed, blown up?
I'm sure the others will give you much more informative feedback than I.
Just popping in to say that I'm really enjoying the entries so far. I recently bought my first DSLR, and I'm still getting the hang of it. Thanks everyone for the great pics.
I have a question...what is a ROAD? I'm not being facetious, but is a road a thoroughfare that is meant only for vehicles? So, a road that is travelled only by foot is not a road, but a path? Or is a path considered a type of a road? Anyone? I need this answered before I put in my entry please.
Roger 6087, I have to ask. WTH(eck) is up with the road you took the photo of? Is that a section they are testing paint samples on? Cool colors though whatever the reason they are there.

I don't really know, I came upon it by luck. I'm guessing this is where they train the people that stripe the highway. They usually paint a main street with lots of traffic if they are testing the paint.

A road is a path upon which travel occurs. It could even be a railroad track, and yes even a path that no vehicle travels.
